Sweet Lassi

So simple, I was wondering whether it was worth posting this but with the recent hot weather this neat little drink totally hits the spot. Make it a couple of times to get your ratios of yoghurt/water/sugar to your liking but this where I’m at right now:

Should serve 4 of you

What you’ll need

2 cups natural yoghurt

1/2 cup water

A handful of ice cubes

1 – 2 tablespoons of sugar

A pinch of ground cardomom

Blitz the yoghurt, water, ice and sugar. I use a handheld blender for this – Β it allows me to get a decent foam on top of the drink. Pour into a glass and sprinkle over the cardamom.

Simple as that.

It might sound like too much sugar but at this volume the amount of sugar you have in each serving isn’t excessive. Like I say, play around with the ratios until you hit the mark.

    Oh, it sounds like an easy recipe. πŸ™‚ I’ve never actually tried cardamon before (perhaps I should in the near future!) but this lassi seems like a good way of letting the cardamom speak for itself.

    I like how you made the cup of lassi look ‘cooling’ in the photograph. Simple & beautiful, as always. πŸ˜‰

      Thanks – if you get whole green cardamon you need to open the husk to get at the small, black seed inside and then grind them. But – I actually found a pot of the pre-ground stuff and it wasn’t that bad. Normally I’d always recommend grinding the spices fresh but pre-ground cardamon is perfectly acceptable.
